Bradley & O’Brien’s Hut – Cabramurra
A cherished piece of Snowy Mountains alpine history.
Part of our Snowy Mountains Huts Collection, this vinyl print celebrates Bradley & O’Brien’s Hut, a rugged homestead built in 1952 by Jack Bailey with the help of the Bradley and O’Brien families — long before the Tooma Road existed.
Originally used for grazing, this small but sturdy hut stood as a beacon for High Plains cattlemen and campers heading into the Jagungal wilderness. Though its stables and horse yards were removed by the National Parks and Wildlife Service, the hut itself featured timber framing, corrugated iron walls and roof, a sawn timber floor, and a solid fireplace resting on a concrete slab.
Measuring 6.5m by 4m with a welcoming verandah, Bradley & O’Brien’s Hut offered a picturesque outlook over the alpine landscape — a quiet refuge in a wild environment. Sadly, this historic hut was destroyed in the January 2020 bushfires, making this print a poignant tribute to its legacy.
Professionally printed on durable vinyl, the print measures 84cm x 56cm, and is presented in a handcrafted rustic wooden frame for a total framed size of approximately 90cm x 62cm — perfect for displaying the rugged charm of this alpine icon.
