'Freedom' - Brinkworth Cattle Drove Collection
Freedom – Brinkworth Cattle Drove Collection
A sweeping tribute to the spirit of the Australian cattle drove.
Part of our exclusive Brinkworth Cattle Drove Collection, this striking vinyl print titled ‘Freedom’ captures a dynamic scene of the legendary Brinkworth mob of cattle moving across the landscape — embodying the raw power, resilience, and untamed spirit of Australia’s rural heritage.
The Brinkworth cattle drive refers to an extraordinary cattle drive undertaken in 2013 by South Australian pastoralist Tom Brinkworth. He moved approximately 18,000 cattle in nine mobs, with a team of 70 drovers, from central west Queensland to Uardry Station near Hay in New South Wales — a grueling journey of around 2,000 kilometers.
The drive took place during severe drought conditions, making water and feed scarce and the feat even more remarkable. This mammoth effort captured the nation’s imagination, highlighting the resilience of rural Australia and the pioneering spirit of those involved. Brinkworth’s vision was to buy cattle cheaply in drought-stricken Queensland and move them to more fertile ground for fattening — a modern-day echo of Australia’s legendary droving history, comparable to the exploits of Sir Sidney Kidman.
